On my non-controversial point.
Or, at least, not yet controversial.
Schicchi was a Bernie Madoff character. That was all he knew how to do.
So why do sopranos time and again act like Lauretta is a corn-fed Iowa Lutheran farm girl with unimpeachable morals--they pretend that Lauretta is not in on the scam, or at least, she is happy to "marry up" on money that just seems to appear magically and with no valid explanation.
I want to see and hear a little situational awareness.
Comments? Is there a performance that I have missed?
John
