After outliving her life expectancy by 100 to 200 percent, Wallis Warfield Simpson, known as "Wally," died from old age.She was my son's first pet. We bought her when he was about 3 years old. Between the divorce, and my son's many deployments overseas, I was the sole custodian of Wally from 2005 until last year, when I figured out that a young nephew who loved nature documentaries might enjoy caring for her.
Wally greeted the dawn with song.
She was grateful for food and water.
She sang along, especially to Bach.
We should all be so bird-brained.
Sleep well, loyal friend.
There is a YouTube of her singing along to some solo-violin Bach.
