Probably like everything else, it's recording dependent, but I just picked up a Telarc disc of Miklos Rozsa's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra that I'm returning today, because the violin sounds so harsh as to make sitting through this disc way too difficult.
My system would not be considered bright by any standard used, but half way through this one, I screamed "enough," found my receipt, and set the CD in the car for a one way trip back to the store.

I believe my hearing has suffered a loss because of the CD's glare, so I'm gonna watch Springer this morning so I can get a lawyer from one of the commercials advertising "Personal Injury Attorney's" with no upfront cash required. I like the guy with the real curly hair, wearing suspenders, and standing in front of a whole messa law books, looking me straight in the eye as he hints I can win big time money even if my lawsuit is bogus, just call 1-800-SCREWEM. I think he specializes in motorcycle accidents involving people who live in trailer parks, who rarely wear shirts while drinking cans of beer on their front step with a fat bleached blonde wife or girlfriend missing a tooth, wearing an oversized t-shirt and filthy bicycle shorts that show off her bruised, white, blue veined legs while lighting a Camel off of the butt of one she just finished and screaming for her kids to bring her another beer before she kicks their goddamned asses all the way to corner store where she's run up such a tab on beer and smokes that she's cut off, but she's gonna send someone down to that store to "teach those goddamn foreigners never to screw with her again," but hell, I'll just say I was riding one while listening to that CD. Besides, from the times that I've been sued, nobody ever told the truth, so I'm allowed to testify with a pack of lies too, aren't I?
