The Vinyl Gods must truly be smiling upon the residents of Music Lane this day. I decided to go for quality rather than quantity and what a pay off: Charlie Parker and Miles Davis - sessions from 1947 on Hall of Fame, Charlie Parker: The Verve Yeats, 1952-54 (double album, vol 3 of 3 volume set), my very own copy of Bitches Brew on Columbia vinyl and John Coltrane: My Favorite Things, on Atlantic (1960). As I left the scene, I chanted "I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy...".Not only that, but as a bonus, I found a nice copy of Verdi's Requiem by The Phillies with Ormondy and Mozart Concertos 17 and 23 with the Vienna Chamber Orch., by the Musical Heritage Society, for a buck each (Mint!).
Oh happy day!
May the Gods of Vinyl smile upon you also.
-Joe.
