After listening almost exclusively to classical and opera for the past 10 to 12 years, I've both branched out and returned to my youth. Branching out: I've begun to listen to a lot of Indian (Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Lakshmi Shankar) and Pakistani (Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan) music. Returning to my youth: Last year I bought a turntable and unpacked the 150 or so records I put into storage over a decade ago -- almost exclusively 1960's - 1970's rock, which with rare exceptions I never duplicated on CD, because I switched from rock to classical at about that time. I was always very careful with my albums and I'm now enjoying pristine Jimi, Janis, the Doors, the Mothers, Arthur Brown (remember Arthur Brown?), Jefferson Airplane, Dylan, etc. (including Pearls Before Swine - see the post below) 25 to 30+ years after I bought the albums!
