I could've practiced 12 hours a day my whole life and never have been
able to play that well.
I've always wondered why some kids chose to play classical and some to
play jazz. Although the same mechanicals are required, the thought
process is much different. It would seem to me, as a non-player, that
playing improvised music well is a lot harder than playing a chart
well.
Nonetheless, another phenom on the trumpet. We cannot have too many
of them.
