The Howard Hanson recordings w/ Gerard Schwarz & the Seattle Symphony are pretty nice. Nice Orchestral "bloom" to them.
In general most of the recordings engineered by John Eargle on Delos are worth seeking out. A lot of the Seattle/Schwarz recordings were reissued by Naxos. I believe there were also some John Eargle engineered recordings w/ James DePriest conducting(orchestra escapes me at the moment)on Delos, that are worth consideration.I would like to see these recordings issued as 24bit/88.2khz downloads. Given the sound available from just their "Redbook/16b/44k" incarnations I'd love to hear how much they could open up afforded more resolution to do so.
