RE: Obscure Mahler 8 question.

According to the NY Philharmonic website archive (a great resource, linked below), there were three performances, Thursday evening, Friday afternoon, and Sunday afternoon, April 6, 7, and 9, 1950. The radio broadcasts were typically on Sundays, so I suspect strongly that the 4/6/50 date on the Archipel disc is either a misprint, or it could be a ruse to hide the fact that they lifted the recording from one of the other sources.
