Yesterday I was walking thru a rather large outdoor xmas craft fair and
encountered a 3 piece band (guitar, banjo, mandolin) playing ... the
blues! And boy were they good! As in, reeeeaallllllyyyyyy good. For
me to stop to listen to a live musical act is fairly rare, because I am
a musical snob - if you can't play well, I don't want to listen to you,
because I've heard the best play and the best are the standard. So I
chatted with the players between numbers, told them how much I enjoyed
their playing, how nice it was to encounter really good musicians, left
something in their tip jar, listened a bit more, and wandered off, a very
happy guy! Sometimes life is really good.
