To each his own, but.......

would you describe 'Trane's sound on Crescent, Ballads, or w/Johnny Hartman as "strident"? I might say that about some of his later stuff - such as the duos w/Rashied Ali - but certainly not on most of his LP's.

I heard him live several times and never thought he sounded strident then either. Intense yes.
