What you say is true. It is.
But, let's take it a step further. Is classical music worth preserving? That's the essential question. Or, shall we let Lady Guga, Fity Cent Dawg, et al, and their future versions envelop music completely?
Is literature worth preserving? Philosophy? Archetecture? Any of the ideas and ideals of Western Civilization? Or, should professional sports, video games, and non-stop beer consumption take over?
All of the former items require some intervention. That's the role that institutions of higher learning have played for centuries. Universities. Do you subscribe to social Darwinism? Isn't economic Darwinism much the same? Is survival of the fitest the only rule?
