It is a relatively unadorned and straightfoward transcription for a string orchestra. He does nothing more than increase the number of string players for each part, and for some parts, doubling the cello with basses. The result is quite magical. I cannot imagine why that recording is no longer generally available and has become expensive. To me it is a basic repertoire item.
