Out of all the recent Beethoven cycles, I've found Immerseel's to the most fun and risk taking. Most of the recent cycles, including the much raved about Vanska recordings, strike me as unsmiling, too determined to try and be the final statement about these symphonies. Immerseel is more interested in rethinking balances and the sounds of the period instruments.
I'd still rank Gardiner's cycle as the best period version (and one of the all around best cycles), but I listen to immerseel's cycle more than many other of my Beethoven recordings.
FYI: It's much cheaper in Europe. MDT sells it for $35.
