Have you listened to Berio, Takemitsu, Schnittke, Stockhausen, Ligeti, Boulez, Otto Leuning, and too many other 20th composers to mention? Exactly what about such recent Parker recordings as The Moments Energy, Time Lapse, House Full Of Floors, Eleventh Hour, Memory/Vision do you think is new.
Exactly what about Parker's playing and/or writing caused the saxophone players you mentioned to be "slack jawed", and who were they?
Playing harmonics on a saxophone while circular breathing ain't new.
