Not to speak for him, but I take his post as a comment on the simple fact that you raised a question with potentially racial and/or racist overtones. Whether or not that's close to his intention and, if it is, whether or not he's correct is, I think, questionable, since I thought it a not unreasonable matter for discussion, although, I suppose, in a perfect world the subject wouldn't come up.
