The other day I was looking through my collection for pieces to put on my portable player & I guess I had forgoten how much I initially enjoyed this piece. There are a few moments at the end of the 2nd or 3rd movement that have (for lack of a better way to describe it) a "Where did that come from?" effect on me in terms of how beautifully the passage is resolved ! I suppose it does'nt hurt how well it was recorded. The recording is on the Lyrita label & the violinist's name is John Georgegiadous(sp?). If you have'nt heard this yet & are'nt locked into listening to only the major symphonic catalog this has my highest recommendation! Enjoy!
