I'm attaching a Youtube link to a speech given recently by pianist Jon Nakamatsu at the conclusion of the Van Cliburn "Amateur" Piano Competition, where Jon was one of the judges.
As a member of Jon's "supporting cast" (I've been his accompanist since he was age nine or so), I could be biased - but I think this speech could provide inspiration not only for musicians, but also for folks in all walks of life. If you're interested, click on the link and see what you think. (The speech is a bit over nine minutes, but I think Jon starts to hit his stride about half way through.)
