I've posted this one earlier as my favourite recording, due to the wonderful acoustics of the new Birmingham hall and the truely wonderful muscicianship of Sir Simon and the CBSO. Nowadays it's no longer fashionable to play the glissandi Mahler wrote in the score but this orchestra stays true to the score and produced a wonderful performance and a good recording too, though I favour a German speaking woman for the 'O Mensch gib acht!'
