Tristan love duet question

A few months ago I heard a recording on the radio of the love duet from act 2 of Tristan und Isolde (with Domingo and Voigt). In this concert arrangement, as the music reaches the point where it would normally would end with the big interruption of the climax, instead of doing that, it morphed into the closing passage of the Liebestod, with a part for the tenor woven in. I thought it was very effective and powerful, making me think it might have been nice if Tristan could have hung on until the end of the opera. I bought the CD hoping to get some program notes that would explain the source of this arrangement, but alas, there was nothing in the notes about it. So my question is, does anyone out there know anything about this arrangement? Who did it? Is it a fairly common concert version of the love duet, or is it a new one done for this recording?
