The works you cite as profound seem to end around Brahms. Maybe we could be looking at something more contemporary? works including prominent violin include:
Stravinsky - Soldiers Tale
Violin concerti by Prokofiev, Shostakovich (esp. no 1), Sibelius, Berg, Bartok
String quartets by Shostakovich and BartokIf you just want "profound music" try
Stravinsky - Symphony of Psalms, Mass, Les Noces (Bernstein)
Hindemith - Nobilissime Visione, Mathis der Maler
Shostakovich - Symphs 5 and 10
Sibelius symphonies 4,5,6,7
Bartok - Concerto for Orchestra (Fricsay), Music for strings, percussion and celeste
