Well Mapleshades doesn't sound horrible overall for an audiophile recording. It could sound a lot better though. Look at their self review of the one Reggae title. Says there's great bass-what a laugh. Sounds terrible. Not much else about the recording is very good either. Now to the quality of the music and musicians..................(imagine complete silence with a few crickets in the background).................. it's pretty bad. This coming from a guy that has been buying Aphile recordings with substandard musicianship since Direct to Disc in the 70's. I bought my two Mapleshades, I won't buy anymore unless I get to audition them first!
