Still am a bit, really. But you get over it and mellow with age.Some of Wagner I enjoy. Richard Strauss, even moreso. Amphissa's comments make sense. They were of their time. While that does not excuse their sins and personal failings, they were primarily musical artists. They were not exercising political power. They were followers of a philosophy or Zeitgeist.
As far as I know neither had anything to do with murdering Jews.
Oh, and didn't Barenboim bring Wagner to Israel. I guess it was still controversial.
