is the notion (Mine, at least) that great art thrives during the periods of the greatest Political/Social adversity. Think the Rock music of the Vietnam era and, of course, the Classical of the Russian Revolution period. A lot of crap as well - perhaps for the same reasons.I remember folks telling me they hated Frank Sinatra because he was such a "shit" personally. Avoiding his music for that reason can only result in a huge (their) loss.
