Glad to hear you've been reconciled to the Amadeus -- although better performances are out there, the set ain't bad.Regarding "his early activity among Communist groups and that he seemed to believe the British Monarchy were pushing drugs" -- I believe he was a Marxian economist rather than a "Commie", although even during that period he was publishing great good sense on Beethoven.
That particular criticism of the BM is a deprecating phraseology coined by his enemies in the media and government -- which is to say, most members of both. LaRouche inter alia has exposed the hugely profitable banking scams that support the operations of nearly every political party in the West, with the drug trade contributing to an off-the-books slush fund for their benefit as well. As all this seems to be run from the City and as Her Majesty is the titular head of those private organizations, one may fancifully say that the Queen deals drugs, but that phraseology, again, is designed to throw us pawns off the scent.
