Not all changes are advances - Coltrane was a change, not an advance.
IMHO. Naturally.And yes I am a moldy fig. I LOVE well played Trad Jazz. And Swing.
and Bebop. And Hard Bop. But I dont like Coltrane, or a lot of
Miles Davis, or a lot of Bill Evans. Give me Stan Getz, Clark
Terry, and Hank Jones anytime - no navel gazing or "art" with these
guys, just great music expertly played, and entertaining as hell too.Mike
