The format offers little benefit for the various pop/rock/rap/world types of music, so it is seen less in those bins. And it seems to be folks who buy that kind of music who are yammering incessantly about the impending death of SACD. But it has carved out a solid audiophile niche in the classical corner where the benefits of the technology are most apparent (and most appreciated). I've seen no evidence of diminishing releases in this category, and sales seem to be going along pretty good. And I'm not aware of any company (hardware or music) deciding it is planning to drop SACD.So, tell me SE, what evidence can you produce that anything you have run across about the impending death of SACD would qualify as "quite possibly true"? Can you give me a link to an authoritative source, like some representative speaking on behalf of Sony or any other record company, saying they are planning to discontinue SACD? I'm not saying it's not true, I'm just interested in some evidence beyond trolls, opinion and undocumented speculation.
