That's true of all music. Classical also isn't the only music with its share of neurotics - not by a long shot. It may, however, have the highest percentage of them among its numbers. I think it's the very fans of the music that are poisoning it. I find that disconcerting, to put it as mildly as I can.

I think your views on "pop" (if I understand what you mean here... are you putting, say, Britney Spears and Jimi Hendrix in this same category?) are terribly extreme but if they weren't, you wouldn't be you, would you? :)

At any rate, you raise some interesting points and I'll wait for the full blown post(s).
