Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Uh, not acording to him . . . he calls himself a flutist

"I don't play the "Flaut" quoth he, I play the flute. Of course this is true only in English and was essentially posturing to help the sales of his "crossover" albums.

Nevertheless, his tone is extraordinary, accessible and I enjoy him, either "Mozarting" or "Chieftoning".

In French classical flautists, Jean-Pierre Rampal is non-pareil. And very, very different. But he never crossed over. His influence over Ian Andersson is debatable. The record is littered with conflicting statements though only a few from the horses mouth.
