In Syracuse, jazz concerts have disappeared. Even the annual Syracuse Jazz Fest is being taken over by non-jazz artists.
In one year we saw Mahavishnu, Weather Report (with Steve Khan on guitar),
Allan Holdsworth, Cabo Frio, Yellowjackets, Miles Davis, Bobby McFerrin.
Now we get these at the Jazz Fest....Todd Rundgren, Michael McDonald, Doobie Brothers???
What's in store for 24? Garth Brooks? Zak Brown Band? Beyonce?
But I must admit, I've never heard of the artists mentioned in this thread.
