RE: Mars Williams, R.I.P.

Mars Williams was a force of nature on the creative music scene, and I feel fortunate to have heard him many times in the Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee scene. Having brought him to the attention of the Madison music community via BlueStem Jazz was shear joy, as many noted at the time where were you hiding this cat?

He had been booked for a mid November show, and then the Ayler Xmas December shows, followed by a Peter Brotzmann Memorial Concert. I'll miss his drive, wit, musicianship, and his utter sincerity.
