New Jazz in Brooklyn

I have been away from the Asylum for a long time, and I was mostly on PC Audio some years ago. But for some reason I dropped by and found the relaxed atmosphere here attractive. There is an unknown jazz renaissance going on in New York, led probably by William Parker and Matt Shipp, who many of you probably know. But there is a huge scene of very exciting younger players, many of them women. They are doing many kinds of things, but most of them are rather out there--Jaime Branch, Ingrid Laubrock, Tyshawn Sorey, James Brandon Lewis, Mary Halvorson, Kris Davis, Tomeka Reid,Kirk Knuffke,Darius Jones, Sylvie Courvoisier... I live in Brooklyn and many of these people live around here. I run into them on the street. There are alot of recordings, but I had the good fortune of hearing all of these and many more live until the last year. If anyone is interested in hearing more, let me know. Don
