I only was able to see him live one time in 1972 at Pall's Mall in Boston, but it was memorable. He, Dave Holland and Barry Altschul were the trio with Stan Getz. At one point during the set, Getz left the stage for about 20 minutes and the trio took off like a rocket. I couldn't believe the great music they were producing: three astonishingly talented players all performing as one voice. The crowd (who had come to see Getz) went wild with enthusiasm and when Getz returned it was sadly anti-climactic.
Getz played 'Captain Marvel', 'La Fiesta', and 'Five Hundred Miles High' all by Corea.
