Despite the name, go pick up "Full Clip: A Decade of Gang Starr" immediately. There are a few tracks you won't like, but it's mostly cerebral, anti-violent, and battle-style rhyming. The DJ/producer (Premier) may be the best in the industry, ever. I cannot overemphasize how talented Premier and Guru are. One foot in the underground, one in the mainstream.
