Nice info about "old school" - you have encouraged me to add it to my "check it out some day" list. There must be some interesting "rap" being made these days - most likely not the "designed for mass consumption" sounds though. I like a nice smooth rap woven subtly into various musical styles... maybe someone can provide a little guidance here.I seem to vaguely remember some of the tunes you mention - a local "house" DJ snuck(?) them in during a great 2-hour public radio dance program in the late 80's (I was listening more for the emerging house / acid house styles however). I seem to remember a song called "Do the Right Thing" (nothing to with the movie I think) that was hilarious... at least the extended version was. Ah, memories.
