Re: Looking for some more trippy music like ZERO 7

i'm not familiar with "zero 7" but if you want more laid back tracks:

"dubnology" is a great 4 CD sollection i bought in a store for just $16. it isn't like typical "electronic" collections. there's way more variety and even some funky beats. some of the tracks are pretty surrealistic too. sample this collection. i bet it's just what you're looking for.

sollex "solex vs. the hitmeister" is a very odd album that comes off like a cross between potishead & cyndi lauper. it's like "goth disco"

cabaret voltaire's "plasticity" is a much better than average "trance" type disc. it has some really deep bass too.

you might really like mickey hart's "planet drum & at the edge" CDs the first is a mostly instrumental percussion disc with alot of mellow tracks and the other is better than average new age with a beat.

the art of noise is REALLY trippy, and often more raved up, but "invisible silence" has more laid back tracks including a wierd take on musak. i'd recommend their best of disc "daft" which is even wierder and better, but not much of it is mellow.

and finally... "smokers delight" by nighmares on wax is an interesting chillout mix of mellow with a twist of hip hop.

the original "mellow and trippy" disc would have to be "dark side of the moon" but maybe you might like "dub side of the moon"
