Anyone hear his new record last night on Echoes?
I was thinking that here we have an acoustic guitarist, creating layers of effected guitars that sound like synthesizers: (instruments designed and used to imitate strings/orchestras)....His Kraftwerk covers were simply brilliant, - IMO. Computer Love simply has to be heard.
This is my second Kraftwerk revelation this year after seeing them live, - in their 60s and still kicking... AWESOME. Really, - in June or whenever I saw them this year, - it was only the second time that I've seen them since the early 80s and had forgotten how A-MAZING they really are... Also thinking how, - although they are very different acts, - DEVO derived a lot of "Kraftwerk sensibilities" from their work....
Just some random, Sordid, thoughts....
Anyone check out the new Interpol yet? I've played it a couple of times and am still formulating an impression..... I liked their first CD and got over dismissing it as a Joy Division/Echo copycat...
is this the real me, or a mere facsimile?
