NLannon - Chemical Friends

Right up front, Nyles is a pretty good friend of mine - so this might be a bit biased.

That said, "Chemical Friends" by n.lannon is a great album and definitely worth checking out. Check out the mp3's on his website (link below). I bought my copy from Amazon, so I know they have it.

Very interesting music - like the Graduate soundtrack (mellow folk guitar) meets Stereolab (glitchy electronic noise rhythm) meets the Stone Roses (very hip vocals, song structure and pacing). A good surprise is that the album contains great dynamics - he uses a lot more dynamic range than you find on most modern CD's. This album sounds good on the car stereo - but really shines on a good system. I haven't heard many albums this year that I'm very enthusiastic about - but this one I can really reccommend.

Also check out his electronica project n.ln. That album is a bit trickier to find, but the free downloads are worth the effort.

Nyles also tours and plays with Technicolor and Filmschool.

Highly recommended.
