If I were to speculate, the SACD used asynchronous sample rate conversion in the chain from original master to disc, the Blu-Ray version did not (likely a DSD conversion, which is synchronous)......
(I personally have never heard an SACD recording that I thought sounded totally right...... Even the hybrid discs, I too often preferred the "CD layer"..... )
With a lot of these recordings, you really have to hold your breath in regard to what had taken place between the original master and the production media.
