Listened to the Byeol Kim performance of Tchaikovsky First Concerto..... It was very nice as well..... She had good articulation, maybe a little "stiff," but I guess this is common for a competition..... The only real issue was I think the pianist and conductor Ling had different ideas on tempo, the orchestra itself was very "together," but not with the pianist..... There were also intonation issues with the strings and clarinet (sounded "flat") during the final movement, it got somewhat "disconcerting" at times. But overall, very nice.....
I will listen to the Aug 7 performance of the Beethoven Concerto Four with Lovre Marušić later today.
