As for the music: charming and sometimes moving, but, as Wagner pointed out, it rarely touches the soul. (And as for what Wagner actually said, let's leave it at that.)
As for the performances, they're my first exposure, so I'll refrain from commenting. They sound perfectly up to the task to me.
