...and, lest anyone accuse me of Cultural Appropriation (and, by an Ivy Leaguer, no less), I can truthfully say that in the environs of the Federal Housing Project where my parents were living when I was born... that insults as to Personal Hygiene often foreshadowed insults as to Homosexuality or Incest, in a rising crescendo, leading up to Insultin' Yo Mama.
As in, "Yo mama swims out to meet Troop Ships."
EXCEPT, in my little area, the insults were called "Sounds," and the process called "Sounding."
The onlookers would say "Soouund!" after a particularly zesty insult.
So, let the Sounding continue, because it has started well.
"Gergiev dreams of sharing sauna and vodka with Putin!"
"Soouund!"
