RE: Ormandy on Columbia Masterworks verses RCA Red Seal

Unfortunately, the era when RCA was recording Ormandy again in the 70s was not a great one sonically for RCA (compared to the Living Stereo era or the recordings made with Previn in London). The sonics can be very good, just don't expect the classic RCA audiophile sound of the 50s and 60s.

I don't think one can generally choose RCA or Columbia on sonic grounds. It's a case by case thing.
