Was going through my Vaughn Williams albums today and I found 2 copies of the Bean/Boult on EMI. One was an original EMI test pressing. It has 2 records, each is only pressed on one side. I put it through the cleaner and on the turntable - wow. What sonics. The violin has more body and resonance than the other (Argo or London) recording. I also noticed that Boult brings out more voices and texture in the orchestra. Wound up listening to the whole album.I should go through my records more often! So many records, so little time. An embarrassment of riches.
Enjoy the music.
