Yes - DG and Decca have done that with a number of their recent boxes. The blu-ray does allow for slightly higher sample rates, as well as 24 bits (vs. the 16 bits on CD). Both of the most recent reissues of the DG Karajan Beethoven Symphony sets contained blu-ray options, and, in the case of the 70's set, the blu-ray was remastered for Dolby Atmos, which brought about an almost miraculous improvement in the sound IMHO. I'm one of those who considers the engineering on the Carlos Kleiber discs pretty bad, and it might be interesting to hear what DG has wrought on this latest remastering.
