Other times, not so much! ;-)Regarding the Ashkenazy/Solti Beethoven Concerto cycle, I think I'm more bothered by the SQ on that recording than I am by the performance. I remember one time listening to the radio and they played Ashkenazy/Solti in the Fourth Concerto, kind of interspersed with the Cliburn/Reiner recording (same orchestra). Every time they went back to that Cliburn/Reiner recording, I was amazed at how much more natural that recording was in comparison.
