One of my nieces is getting married this fall and I'd like to get them started with a decent audio system.Want to keep it fairly simple (speakers, amp, streamer), ideally new and easily available. Small speakers, bookshelf/stand mount.
Budget ~1.5k USD
Some of items that look interesting
- Wiim Pro Streamer
- send digital to Yamaha YAMAHA A-S501SL which seems to have an OK DAC (TI PCM5101, so at least it's not ESS).
- Wharfedale Denton 85, Polk R200?
Maybe go for KEF LS50's and cheaper amp/DAC, although the speakers alone will break the budget. But hey, so it goes. Are they worth it?
Kicking the idea around, would welcome suggestions.
