Presonus

Yes, Presonus makes some very nice gear. A few years ago, I came very close to buying one of their 8-channel microphone preamps which was a really good unit. In the end, I didn't, simply because I realized that I didn't need it and it would just be a "backup" for my Valley People TransAmp pres. But, yeah, they make good stuff.

I should clarify one thing you wrote. When you say "studio monitor", it's important to understand that that is a catch-all term often used by manufacturers to help make their speakers appeal to a certain type of buyer. They are not in the class of studio monitors typified by big JBL, Genelec, UREI, Munro, ATC, and other serious monitors, which are often built-in soffet-mounted speakers designed for critical analysis of sound. Rather, they are more for the "home studio" where people are recording tracks in their living room, basement, garage, etc. There are many manufacturers of such speakers. Presonus is one, and they make good stuff. They might also play a role in "real" recording studios, where a pair or two of small speakers is often used to get another perspective of the sound. This application has been dominated by the venerable Yamaha NS-10 and Auralex for many decades, but other small speakers have been making inroads - maybe Presonus.
