Has anyone else experienced this?

Totally non-audio related, I just was curious if anyone else has experienced outrageous shipping charges.
Recently bought a couple of items for work. Total weight is less than two pounds, nothing hazardous or dangerous.
The items themselves totaled $77.00 shipping was over $57.
I called and questioned the source about it and got a vague answer of it is a flat fee charged. I asked who the shipping company was and it was FedEx.
There was no negotiation of charges, take it or leave it.
No other source to buy from.

Seems like excessive charges to me.
Anyone else have a similar experience.
