So first off, you are only checking the sound in the studio from one position.
do you agree or disagee that the sound you would hear would change if you listened from other positions in the same studio? And more to my point would you agree or disagree that those differences would be even more substantial in a concert hall?
In regards to the final commercial releases of these recordings? Do they also sound like being 4-6 feet from a piano in a studio space?
I'm not going to lie, I have spent a fair amount of time with the piano tech at Disney hall listening to pianos at close range in the piano room. As a consumer of audio recordings that is not what I would want to hear from a recording.
