RE: Sounds That Can kill

As an audiophile / electric bassist I have always strived for low bass however I can produce it... as well as a relatively flat response from the rig overall. My secret is... make the full-range first, then excite the resonant frequencies of the room or recording by experimenting with as much time as is available. That's why I always got to gigs early... to stake out my territory and start blasting some sound bombs. I usually got chased out before I was done! Then I started getting rough estimates of what my rig was capable of and stuck to safe hearing parameters, and soothing notes that work well with the musical context of of the piece itself. Trust it to say that I don't just walk the bassline in a blues band.
